Step 01: Take out the dull chainsaw blade
Start step # 01 by taking out the side blade. You will find 2 nuts at the chainsaw that is holding everything at one place. Either socket wrench or t-wrench, use any of the wrenches to unscrew the nut. It will let you get access to the chain.
Step 02: Release the tension of the chainsaw
Once you remove the side plate, pulling the guide bar nose will be easier for you now. This way, the tensioner will release the chainsaw chain. You can easily remove the chain after the chain gets relaxed.
Step 03: Freeing the tensioning screw
In this step, you need to locate the tensioning screw first. Look at the inner part of the guide bar, you will track it easily. Take a Flathead screwdriver and loosen it. It will let the new chain slip easily.
Step 04: Align the bar once chain threading is complete.
Once you placed the chain into the guide bar, then it is time to clutch the chain into the saw’s clutch drum. You need to make sure that all drive links are sprocket. You need to apply some tension in order to align the bar once you finish threading the chain.
To do this, gently pull the nose away from the chainsaw and accomplish it.
Step 05: Place the side plate back to its position
Once you become sure everything is well-placed in their position correctly, retake the socket or t-wrench, and place the side plate back to its position by screwing it into the chainsaw. Make sure; you have not tightened the nuts fully.
You need to provide some free space to the guide bar so that it can move a little bit when the chainsaw gets tightened to its ideal tension.
Step 06: Give a well-tighten to everything
The chainsaw chain needs the correct tension. To do so, use a tensioning screw to give the chain a well-tension.
Once the tension reaches its precise tension, finish the project by screwing the nuts precisely.
